From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

Improving the care that we deliver for people living with or affected by cancer is key priority for providers. Therefore, in partnership with Macmillan to help us deliver the Living with and Beyond Cancer Agenda, we are looking to recruit a Macmillan Living With and Beyond Cancer User Involvement Facilitator. This is a fixed term project funded by Macmillan Cancer Care until December 2019.

As a patient focused individual you will have experience of working in the NHS or voluntary sector. You will have knowledge of cancer and the recovery package. The role will involve working closely with a wide range of stakeholders to support the delivery of appropriate involvement and consultation over the implementation of the Recovery Package.

You will be responsible for facilitating the involvement of People Affected by Cancer (PAbC). This will include utilising a co-production approach to ensure that the needs of PAbC and equity of access are central to any service re-designs.
