From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

St Mary’s Theatres is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner in Gynaecology to develop the Clinical Educator role initially for 6 months. The position is for 30 hours per week. Ideally you would have experience in a senior position and hold certificates in two disciplines i.e. Anaesthetics/Scrub/Recovery.

You will support the EDP in implementing education, training and development strategies within Saint Mary’s Theatres for all staff groups. You must ensure the delivery of education and training to support evidenced based care across within the clinical teams. You will contribute to the improvement of standards to care through the development of all staff groups, participating in audit and research, teaching and supporting colleagues and the provision of effective leadership. In conjunction with the Theatre Matron, Theatre Team Managers, you will ensure that the workforce is fit for purpose in terms of their roles and that individual/role competencies are reviewed to provide a safe, high quality and efficient service. As directed by the Theatre Matron you may lead for the Directorate/Area the delivery of mandatory training, preceptorship and continuing professional development. You will contribute to theatre projects as designated by the Theatre Matron Education and Development Practitioner.
