From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

An opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated team administrator is required to support the roll out and smooth running of a new and innovative service within the Infant Feeding Team.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England.

You are required to ensure that all referrals to the service are inputted onto our electronic record and allocated to the appropriate practitioner in a timely manner.  Assuring the smooth running of the service by ensuring databases and systems are kept up to date and support clinical staff in managing their clinic diaries.  Ideally you will have experience of using a clinical system. 

As the first point of contact for new referrals from clients, GP’s Paediatricians, Midwives and Health Visitors via electronic and telephone referrals, you are required to be friendly and helpful, and deal with distressed clients and any concerns or complaints in a sensitive manner.

Roles and responsibilities include: running monthly and quarterly reports for service leads and the management team. Contacting clients re: repeat prescriptions and medical device return. Input timesheets. Ordering equipment; both stock and non-stock items. Arranging training, internal and external for the team and the service they deliver to. Monitor outgoings and expenditure for the team. Taking minutes and typing up meeting notes.

As part of the Infant Feeding Team you will be expected to assist with the day to day smooth running of the department including administration and housekeeping duties and supervision/training of junior staff as required.

 You must be able to demonstrate:-

  • An ability to communicate with and relate to children and young people with a range of disabilities
  • An ability to work using your own initiative
  • An ability to manage your own workload under the direction and supervision of the Infant Feeding Lead
