From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Paediatric Dietitian?  If so we would you to join our expanding Infant Feeding Team.

Working with specialist Health Visitors, Midwives and Infant Feeding Support Workers the post holder is expected to support families whose babies are experiencing suspected or confirmed food allergies. Preventing the need for onward referral to secondary care and reducing A&E attendances by the offer of a clear feeding plan and regular review, with open access as required. This is a new role within the team and the post holder is expected to develop clear pathways and operating procedures to ensure clients receive the best support possible. 

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England.

Working across community settings in North Manchester and linking closely with our associated hospital sites and teams you will manage your own caseload and deliver community based groups that meet local need. You are required to work flexibly and offer cover for colleagues in a variety of settings as service needs dictate.  Access to a car for work purposes is essential for this role. 

Manchester Infant Feeding Team are receiving significant financial investment and will be under considerable scrutiny to deliver clear evidence based programmes of care and improved outcomes for our clients. This will include conducting evaluations and being involved in research throughout.  

As part of the Infant Feeding Team you will be expected to assist with the day to day smooth running of the department including administration and housekeeping duties and supervision of junior staff as required.   

You must be able to demonstrate:-

  • An ability to communicate with and relate to children and young people with a range of disabilities
  • An ability to work using your own initiative
  • An ability to manage your own workload under the direction and supervision of the Infant Feeding Lead

Previous experience of working with children and allergies is essential.
