From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

The Applications Support Team are responsible for supporting a wide range of patient administration and clinical systems across the Trust. As a member of this team you will assist the Product Specialists in the management, training and configuration of multiple systems, resolving end user’s problems and contributing to the successful use of IT systems across the Trust. The skills you acquire in this role will open up further career opportunities within NHS informatics.

We are looking for an individual who has experience of working in a service desk or customer service role and must be able to communicate well with all grades and disciplines of staff. You will be a problem solver able to manage, investigate and resolve issues and be well organised in a busy environment.

Ideally you will have experience of using or supporting clinical systems. Experience in ICE, CliniCom PAS, Graphnet EPR, MediSec, ORMIS, Ultragenda or Symphony would be particularly advantageous.

The Informatics department is at the forefront of exciting challenges facing the Trust particularly relating to the delivery of the Informatics strategy to support the Trust vision and objectives, the NHS plan and the national changes to the NHS. Working in this environment will provide the right person with valuable skills and experience with which to advance their career

This post has a requirement to provide out of hours on call support at evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
