From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

An opportunity has arisen for a sister/charge nurse within Day Surgery Services Department at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital also incorporating oral surgery pre surgical assessment. 

 Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research and specialist services in the North West of England. We provide an extensive range of district general hospital services to the local population of Manchester and tertiary and specialist services to patients from across the North West and beyond.

The role is varied and diverse and will allow you to develop your leadership, managment and clinical skills as you support the team in the operational day to day management of the departments as well as working in a clinical capacity within the area.

You must hold RN adult First level registration, have evidence of CPD in a relevant specialty, evidence of Level 3 studies, hold a relevant teaching qualification and be qualified to function as mentor for pre-registration students. Additionally, previous experience in Ophthalmology and / or Maxillofacial speciality and / or pre surgical assessment would be advantageous. We are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic and committed approach to leading our team in ensuring excellent patient experience through a safe, effective, caring, resposive and well led service.

In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.
