12 month fixed term contract

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust was formed on 1st October 2017, when  Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) joined together to create one of the largest NHS trusts in the country.

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital. These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester. That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester, and one that provides a wealth of career opportunities for great people right across our Group.

You will lead on the development, delivery and management of patient experience training to our administrative and clerical staff in particular, as part of the Trust’s What Matters to Me programme. The What Matters to Me programme works with patients, service users, families, carers and staff to identify, from personal experience, those key behavioural factors that make a big difference to patient experience.

This role will primarily deliver a programme of face-to-face training using feedback from those experiences; however, a further aspect of your work will be the development of a sustainable training programme using multi-media channels.

You will be part of the Trust’s Organisational Development and Training Team, also working closely with our Patient Experience department. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will also hold an adult teaching or training qualification. You will have experience of delivering and leading customer service and/or patient experience training, ideally in a healthcare or similar environment. Your training practice will be informed by your own experience of working in a customer service/patient experience environment, and commitment to service excellence.
