From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

The successful applicant will act as one of a team of consultant orthodontists providing orthodontic treatment within the North West of England, the Isle of Man & North Wales Cleft Lip and Palate Network. The appointee will be expected to have significant experience in complex orthodontic treatment management, especially with regard to the multidisciplinary care of young people with cleft lip and or palate.  The post holder will contribute to the strategic development of the multidisciplinary cleft lip and palate team, liaising with colleagues in a broad range of disciplines, and to local, national, and international collaborative research initiatives.  The Cleft Service is based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

 

In addition, the post holder will be expected to provide an Orthodontic service at the Multidisciplinary Clinics at Preston, which is part of the Network.

 

Applicants must hold full registration with the General Dental Council and have completed a Specialist Advisory Committee recognised training pathway (or be able to demonstrate equivalence and be on (or be eligible for) the specialist list in Orthodontics.
