From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Do you have the enthusiasm, interest and energy to be part of delivering excellent care to CYP & families with Diabetes and Hyperglycaemia related conditions within the largest Children's Hospital in the UK?

The Children's Diabetes team at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) is pleased to be able to offer a band 6 Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialist post on a fixed term contract for maternity cover ending December 2018.

You must be passionate about Paediatric diabetes and achieving optimum health outcomes for children, young people and their families. Experience within diabetes and insulin pump therapy is essential.

The established multi-disciplinary team comprises of Doctors, Nurses, Dietitians, Psychologists and Psychiatrists, Podiatrist and works to provide a seamless service across, primary, secondary, tertiary and quarternary care environments. Care is delivered in the home and school and within inpatient and outpatient settings. An established insulin pump service has been in place since 2006 with approximately 50% of our current caseload on insulin pumps. Service performance and outcomes are continuously being measured as part of Best Practice Tariff.

The team provides support to families Monday-Friday from 08.00 - 17.00. There will be an expectation to provide on-call telephone support at weekend.
