From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Clinical Fellow (ST1-2 or equivalent) in Paediatric ENT Surgery

12 month fixed term contract

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is a major Paediatric teaching hospital situated next to the campus of the University of Manchester and Manchester Medical School. The Department of Otolaryngology carries out the full range of routine ENT procedures and along with complex tertiary workload.

There will be the opportunity to gain experience in ENT surgical procedures as well as the management of pre, peri and post-operative care of complex ENT patients. There will be ample opportunities to participate in audit and research with the potential to lead to publications. Although this post is not approved for training, the post holders will be supported in their professional development and will gain excellent clinical experience. This post is suitable for candidates who wish to gain experience in Otolaryngology and Paediatric Otolaryngology.

There is an on-call commitment for these posts with prospective cover as part of the paediatric surgery junior rota, which includes working a week of nights. This post requires the post holders to provide cross cover as agreed within the Hospital @ Night operational policy.

The salary will be on the StR Payscale (fixed term) £30,605 - £40,491 per annum.
