From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group.

Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, (RMCH) is a tertiary hospital and provides a regional and supra regional service to include most clinical paediatric specialities. We are based in a 371 bedded purpose built hospital in the centre of Manchester and are continuing to expand and develop our services to reflect the state of the art facilities available in the largest Children's hospital in Europe.

The structure within the service reflects and supports the integration of paediatric AHP's into a centralised Manchester Children's Hospital AHP team. Physiotherapy is well recognised and respected within RMCH where we are considered valuable members of multi-disciplinary teams.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated physiotherapist with extensive respiratory experience including working with patients with cystic fibrosis. The post involves working within the paediatric respiratory physiotherapy team and the multi-disciplinary cystic fibrosis team. You would be supporting patients and families in both the in-patient and out-patient settings. This includes home/school visits and working within the shared care network clinics.

You would be expected to have a role in providing training and support to other paediatric physiotherapists in order to develop, monitor and assess competencies needed for the oncall / evening respiratory service.

You will be expected to line manage and support junior members of respiratory staff and provide support and training to the staff within the network clinics. Demonstration of teaching skills is therefore essential to the role. You will lead on service development within cystic fibrosis and provide clinical support to other respiratory areas during planned or unplanned absence.

We will provide access to training and support for CPD with annual appraisals, peer support and specialist networking and training opportunities to further develop highly specialist clinical skills.

You will be expected to participate in the respiratory on-call and weekend rota.
