From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group.

We are the leading provider of tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester and treat more than a million patients every year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) Operating Theatres. We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Nurses/ODPs to join our anaesthetic, scrub and recovery teams, who have the ability to translate the Trust's vision of high quality care and excellent patient experience into action.

We are working closely with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and the Department of Health to bring the UK's first high energy proton beam therapy service to Manchester, this will be one of only two high energy NHS proton beam therapy centres and RMCH theatres will provide the anaesthetic and recovery service.

Within RMCH Theatres we have 10 theatres which perform both minor and major procedures in many specialist areas including Burns and Plastics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Major Spinal Surgery, Trauma, Neonatal Surgery and Orthopaedics.

We can offer a comprehensive induction programme for all staff including a respected 12 month preceptorship programme for newly qualified staff. All staff will be given a 6-12 week supernumerary period. Within paediatric theatres we encourage professional development and career progression.

Why not come and visit our mock theatre on Saturday 17th February 2018, 09:00-13:00
