From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. 

Our new organisation will provide a single hospital service across the city of Manchester and in 12- 18 months will also include the services currently provided by North Manchester General Hospital.  These changes will make a real difference to the health outcomes and quality of life for the people of Manchester.  That’s why this really is an extremely exciting and challenging period in the delivery of health and social care in Greater Manchester and one that provides a wealth career opportunities for great people right across our Group. 

Ward 31 specialises in delivering acute stroke care and stroke rehabilitation. Manchester Royal Infirmary provides care to a diverse patient group who can often have complex health and social needs. We are committed to putting patient care first and we are looking for dedicated professionals who share our values and our passion for delivering quality care.

Working on ward 31 gives you the opportunity to work closely with the multidisciplinary team who have vast amounts of specialist knowledge. We are a very friendly team who work closely together to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.

The team has a great professional support network which includes regular interaction and team meetings that allows us to grow, learn and develop together. We also want to ensure our staff members are able to develop their skills and knowledge. Therefore we are committed to ensuring our staff members have the opportunity for on-going professional development.

As a Staff Nurse you will deal with a variety of patients and conditions and contribute to the overall performance of the team by being a proactive, enthusiastic team member. The role will also involve:

•Caring for patients, families, each other
•Actively listening, understanding and responding to patients
•Delivering, monitoring and maintaining our high standards of care
•Contributing to complex discharge planning
•Being an active and participating member of the team sharing best practice whenever possible
•A commitment to on-going improvement and development of the service
