From 1st October 2017, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) and the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) has joined together to create a new Foundation Trust which has been named Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Saint Mary’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) has been delivering services to people who have experienced sexual violence since 1986 and has a national and international reputation for first class service provision, innovation and development. The Centre is the busiest SARC in the UK and provides forensic medical and therapeutic medical assessment, support and therapy services to adults and children of any gender and of any age. Our counselling service delivers specialist sexual violence therapeutic services across Greater Manchester.

An exciting and significant opportunity has arisen for a Senior Counsellor to join Saint Mary’s SARC aftercare service as a Team Lead for the adult counselling team. The successful candidate will facilitate the day to day running of the adult service and line manage a team of highly skilled and dedicated for counsellors. Additionally, the post holder will deliver trauma focused therapy to adults who have experienced sexual violence and have the ability to develop new interventions, and innovate on service design.

Highly motivated and resourceful you will have extensive experience of working with clients who have experienced sexual violence and an in-depth knowledge of offering therapy to clients with post traumatic stress, anxiety and depression using evidence-based interventions. You will have line management experience gained in a multidisciplinary or healthcare environment and your client centred ethos will allow you to provide and support others to provide the highest standards of care.

This post is offered on a permanent basis. The post will require some travel around Greater Manchester and some evening working may be required. The successful post holder must be a car owner with a clean driving licence.
