This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Pharmacy technician to develop your career in Aseptics in the unit currently based at Trafford General Hospital for 12 months. You must be a good team player, who is flexible, self-motivated and able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills. You must be able to work accurately and quickly under pressure, have a good eye for detail and be able to prioritize the workload to meet deadlines.

Working closely with the Specialist Pharmacy Technician Aseptics and Nursing staff you will lead a team of technicians and assistants to co-ordinate the preparation of Chemotherapy and CIVA. You will ensure an efficient and effective service is provided to patients and will be responsible for the training and development of technical staff. You will also assist the Specialist Technician in developing the Aseptic Service.

A working knowledge of Aseptic Services, including experience of NVQ3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services or an equivalent nationally recognized qualification with post qualification experience in hospital pharmacy as an aseptically trained technician is essential. Previous evidence of supervising staff and workload is also required.

You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and ideally have a post qualification experience in aseptic services.

This role is full time (37.5 hours per week) hours of work are Monday to Friday 9 am to 5:15 pm except Tuesdays which are 8:30 am to 4:45 pm, plus 1 in 5 Saturday mornings and bank holidays as required. This role is based at Trafford General however there may be some cross site working with Central Manchester.
