An exciting position has arisen for a band 2 health care support worker to work in the outpatient TIA clinic at Wythenshawe hospital.

Job summary : Working under the direct supervision of the Lead Clinic Clinician. The health care assistant will deliver high quality nursing care to patients as part of a team in a safe and timely manner. The post holder is responsible for their own practice working within the defined limits of competence and within the scope of the role. Communication both verbal and written is a key skill required for the role along with the need to provide appropriate administrative support as required to help ensure the efficient and effective running of the TIA clinic. the post holder will competent to perform ECGs, venepuncture and blood pressure as requested by the clinic clinicians.

You will need to have:

· Level 2 NVQ/Apprenticeship in Health and Care
· Excellent communication skills – in particular listening skills
· A friendly, open, empathetic and compassionate communication style
· A strong ability to engage with patients, visitors and colleagues
· The ability to work well in a team
